Medhold Medical (Pty) Ltd, part of the Medhold Group, has been in the Healthcare Device Industry since 1987, representing gold standard products from world class manufacturers. The company offers a full range of services including equipment supply, clinical engineering support and consulting services.

The company was listed on the JSE in the 1990s via Medhold Limited before management effected a buy out in 1998. Since then the Company has expanded its operations into a range of diverse integrated business units and exclusively represent the following major suppliers in the South African market:
  • GE Healthcare Clinical System Devices (Anaesthesia delivery systems, Patient Monitoring, Cardiology, Ventilation, Maternal and Infant Care and Clinical Information Systems)
  • Getinge Infection Control (Autoclaves, Sterilisers, Washers and Disinfectors)
  • Maquet Surgical Systems (Theatre Lights, Theatre Tables, Multi Media systems and Pendants)
  • Conmed (Electrosurgery, Patient Care and Endoscopic technologies)
  • Ferno & CMC (Emergency and Rescue products)
The company has two major subsidiaries:
  1. Promed Computer Services (Pty) Ltd. - which provides Radiological Information Systems and PACS for the SA market, and
  2. Medhold Africa (Pty) Ltd. - which provides professional consulting and management on new hospital building projects and turnkeys as well as supplying devices and engineering services to meet clients' needs on the African continent.
The company currently has a BBB or Level 5 BBBEE rating with a value add status for all SA customers. This was made possible through the formation of the Medhold Employee Trust whereby the employees own 20% of the Medhold Group, the balance being owned by management.
