Ankle Reconstruction of Lateral Ligaments (Anti-RoLL)

Chronic ankle instability following ankle sprains causes pain and functional problems such as recurrent giving way. If non-operative treatments fail, then operative ankle stabilization may be required to improve pain and function. If pre-existing ligament structures have been damaged beyond repair or are insufficient to allow repair, then it is appropriate to choose an anatomic reconstructive technique. To complete this technique, we utilize a small diameter Y-Graft soft tissue graft and TenoLok® combination to perform a Percutaneous Ankle Reconstruction of the Lateral Ligaments (Perc-Anti RoLL). The Perc-Anti RoLL technique can be performed percutaneously using fluoroscopic guidance1. The Y-Graft construct is intended to reproduce the natural anatomy of the CFL and ATFL in pathological indications. For indications where the pathology of the CFL is not impaired, TenoLok fixation using a graft can still be used to replace the ATFL only.
